After
finishing a long reading project, I had the great pleasure of deciding on what
next to read out of many choices. I
reached for The Portable Nietzsche, edited, translated and
with commentary by Walter Kaufmann. This
is a classic that I first read 40 years ago, and it is still as fresh and
relevant as it was when it was first published.

is ruthlessly honest, boldly curious, iconoclastic, and timelessly in tune with
the human condition from ancient days straight through into our own future. … The
man continually amazes me.
